Mundae University Holds Its Health Update Sessions Focused on Innovation, Clinical Practice and Healthcare Transformation

Mundae University held its Health Update Sessions on May 18 and 19, an event designed to promote the exchange of knowledge, bring the academic community closer to the latest trends in the healthcare sector, and strengthen training connected to professional reality.

Over two days, the sessions brought together professionals, specialists and partner institutions who shared their experience through conferences, workshops and practical activities focused on some of the main challenges and opportunities currently transforming the field of health.

The programme featured the participation of professionals such as Dr. Danny Porras, Eng. Javier Brenes, Dr. Marlon León Rodríguez, Dr. Nathalia Vega Angulo, Dr. José Francisco Villanueva Valverde and Marianela Picado Álvarez, who contributed different perspectives on innovation, technology, clinical practice and professional development.

Among the topics addressed were Artificial Intelligence applied to healthcare, innovation and digital transformation in Nursing, the use of POCUS in clinical practice, interactive clinical cases, virtual simulation and advanced techniques and procedures through practical demonstrations.

The first day focused on theoretical updating and the analysis of new perspectives in the healthcare sector, with sessions centred on technological evolution, clinical decision-making and new approaches applied to health education.

The second day made it possible to transfer that knowledge to more practical scenarios, through workshops, simulations and expert-led demonstrations. This combination of analysis, practice and direct application allowed participants to explore tools and methodologies linked to current professional practice.

With this initiative, Mundae University reinforces its commitment to healthcare education based on continuous updating, practical experience and a connection with the real challenges of the professional environment.

Dr. Francisco Villanueva develops a clinical case using a virtual simulator, encouraging active audience participation in the analysis and collaborative resolution of each stage of the clinical process.

Students participate actively and remain attentive throughout the different presentations, strengthening their knowledge through academic exchange and the updating of clinical experiences.

Students take part in a guided practice session on the placement technique for negative pressure therapy.
